Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. Oosh does not sell your personal data and does not serve third-party advertising. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.

1. Information we collect

When you create a Oosh account we collect your name, email address, and phone number. When you create or join a savings circle we collect the circle's configuration, contribution amounts, payout order, and membership details. We also collect payment status records as reported by circle members. We automatically collect certain technical data including your IP address, browser type, device type, and usage activity within the Service. We do not collect payment card numbers or bank account details.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to: operate and improve the Service; authenticate your identity; send transactional notifications about your circles (payment reminders, payout confirmations); respond to support requests; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service; comply with applicable legal obligations; and, with your consent, send product updates or announcements. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Sharing of information

We share your information with other members of your savings circles to the extent necessary to operate those circles — for example, showing your name and payment status to your circle organizer. We share information with service providers who process data on our behalf (cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics), subject to contractual data protection obligations. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights or safety of Oosh, its users, or the public.

4. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Circle records are retained for at least 7 years after circle completion for legal and audit purposes. You may request deletion of your account data at any time; note that we may retain certain records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and role-based access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for any activity under your account. Promptly notify us at security@oosh.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Cookies and tracking

Oosh uses session cookies required for authentication and to keep you logged in. We may use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the Service and to improve it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features of the Service may not function correctly without them. We do not serve third-party advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; restrict or object to certain processing; and receive a portable copy of your data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@oosh.app. We will respond within 30 days. Residents of the European Economic Area, the UK, and California have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at privacy@oosh.app.

9. Third-party links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice within the Service before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
